Applications for the Black Scholars Matter initiative are currently OPEN for ARCE attendees, and will close on February 28th 2022!

Applicants must be Black undergraduate students in their junior or senior year of study, currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university. Successful applicants will receive $1,000 towards conference expenses, and will be provided with mentors to help them navigate the conference experience.

The application is intended to be a place where you can showcase your enthusiasm for the ancient world, and to show us some of your personality. It is not intended to be a rigorous examination of your academic abilities.

If your application is put through to the second round, then we will request a character reference and a C.V. before scheduling an online interview.

Applications accepted from February 1st - February 28th (for ARCE attendees) and April 1st - May 14th (ASOR attendees).
